Memory Card - Earth
With her new series of mixed-media artworks, Kumari is exploring how the human mind relates to itself, our surrounding, and its historical foundation. The wonders of the mind are intangible, just like the digital albums where we today store our photos, texts and other personal memories. By creating a colourful mind map of these memories, each circle holds its own unique recollection.
Our memories are entwined in a maze of historical sequences, all related to each other, conceiving cognitive biases and perspectives, of which we base our decisions and opinions. Some memories we hold only for ourselves, while others we share with friends, family, and even strangers. By giving these memories different colours and nuances, representing our life journeys and bonds between each other, she celebrates the joy of coming together.
